If it is good enough for SEOmoz......conversion goes hans in hand with getting that traffic. Once you have traffic it needs to convert

I'm definitely going to do things differently now, unless things have changed, now that it's 2011 and this article is getting somewhat old. I see video landing pages more effective then the long long long landing page like show cased here.

Very interesting article. I guess the moral to the story is to test, test, test and see what works best, and just listen to the consumer. I need to re-evaluate some things now...

Wow. What's a great article on optimisation based on one of my favorite SEO expert sites.
I agree with you about "there are no long webpages but boring ones"
Great work!

I love how you guys always change the mysterious voodoo into common sense tests. Thanks SEOMoz for letting CRE tell your story so we could learn how to think like human beings instead of bots.

Although this was an obviously beautiful piece of work, IT IS NOT A TESTAMENT TO LONG PAGES, which seems to be the conclusion some readers arrived to. Anyone with minuscule understanding of research methods would know that causality cannot be inferred when so many factors are manipulated (content based on extensive user research, $1 subscriptions, retention mechanisms etc).

If anything, I think this is an excellent article to demonstrate the importance of user research. It's a shame to be "reduced" to the takeaway "long pages are better".
